As some of you may or may not be aware, we had been planning to go to Hawaii for some time. A year and a half to be exact.
Well, yesterday, we finally got on a plane to Honolulu, well, technically it was a plane to Seattle followed by a plane to Honolulu, but you get the picture.
All I can really say about this place is that it is truly beautiful. It has been warm since we arrived last night, even the rain is warm!
When we arrived, we first took a shuttle to the hotel where we would be staying, the driver telling us interesting things about the places we passed, as well as giving some recommendations for restaurants and other entertainments. We then arrived at our suite and promptly went to sleep.
This morning we got breakfast at the hotel, then wandered about the open-air market for a few hours. After that, we went to the beach, met a guy named John who ran this boat-tour thing, which we may do at a later date, and got our feet wet in the surf. I am not certain that this is the exact order of events, though I do know that we got lunch during this time and then headed back to the hotel.
We then went out again, looked at some art, wandered around town some more, and again heading out to the beach, where we all decided to play in the water for a few hours. I found some neat shells and rocks, including a small conch shell!
After we were worn out from splashing about in the water, we headed back to the hotel to clean ourselves off. After hanging around the suite for a bit, we decided to get some dinner.
We found a nice family restaurant, and got some truly delicious fish, which I can still only describe as heavenly, and wandered about some more, checking out some gift shops and what-not. We then slowly wandered back to the hotel, where we are now.
Buono notte
